Experience
Software Engineering Intern
The Scotts-MiracleGro Company | June 2019 - September 2019
- Worked on a team to develop technological solutions to improve business efficiency of a multi-billion dollar corporation.
- Built a web/tablet app using Ionic, Angular, NodeJS, and Google Cloud (using Firebase and BigQuery specifically) to help quality control specialists to streamline their daily tasks and checks. Often pair programmed, and sometimes applied ping pong programming in combination with test driven development.
- Planed and redesigned the architecture and data structure of an existing, outdated app that utilizes Google Maps APIs to allow researchers to select plots of land to perform trials in.
- Spearheaded initiative to better integrate unit testing into all applications, and begin use of CI/CD operations. Notably was the first developer at the company to implement NodeJS backend unit and service tests.
- Participated in a hackathon and follow up discussion to familiarize, analyze and discuss React Native
Math Camp Counselor
Arnold Ross Mathematics Program at Ohio State University | June 2018 - July 2018
- The Ross Math Program at the Ohio State University is an intensive residential summer experience for distinguished high school students interested in mathematics. The program introduces number theory, abstract algebra, and advanced topics, which vary from year to year, including linear algebra and analysis.
- Guided four first year students and one advanced student through course material
- Graded daily problem sets
- Conducted regular one-on-one feedback conferences with students.
- Worked efficiently with a team of 16 other counselors to efficiently and effectively measure and encourage success and health of first year students.
